📢 Impact Spotlight: TCO’s Bay Street Climate Report spurs new City Council motion on addressing the financial industry’s carbon footprint!
On March 26 and 27, 2025, the Toronto City Council, led by Councillor Paula Fletcher, and seconded by Dianne Saxe, adopted a motion to address the financial industry’s carbon footprint. Influenced by the TCO’s Bay Street Climate Report, which found that Bay Street financial institutions financed 1.44 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions in 2022, City Council adopted five actions to address this impact.
