Bay Street Climate Report

The TCO’s 2024 found that eighteen Toronto banks, pensions and asset managers are responsible for financing emissions that are almost 2x Canada’s total emissions, nearly 100x City of Toronto’s emissions, contributing
to at least 1.44 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions in 2022.
SoC Urban Challenge Grant

TCO has been awarded an Urban Challenge Grant by the School of Cities in its 4th iteration, focusing on inequality, data, and democracy. With this grant, TCO will advance new research on building a framework for equitable flood information for Southern Ontario.
XSeed Program Grant

TCO is one of the winners of the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering’s 2025-2027 competition of the Joint Seed Program, to be able to develop an interdisciplinary reconnaissance team to measure the acute and lasting impacts of floods on underserved communities.
New City Council Motion

Spurred by the findings of the TCO’s Bay Street Climate Report, the Toronto City Council in March 2025 adopted a motion to address the financial industry’s carbon footprint, including discussing the development of a Sustainable Finance Hub in Toronto and support for climate-aligned regulation.
Summer School 2025

The Toronto Climate Summer School 2025 concluded after an immersive 6-week journey. Participants, comprised of undergraduate students from across faculties at UofT, organized a poster presentation session to showcase the research they undertook during the summer school.
